Live and Thrive Community Gardens
Live and Thrive Community Gardens is now in it’s 10th season!
Our mission is to educate the community on how to grow food from the ground AND hydroponically. Members also receive shares of food from the gardens as well. We offer hands on experience on growing food and we teach Hydroponic Garden classes year round as well in our 1200 square foot high tunnel cold frame greenhouse. Those who have a desire to 1) learn new garden skills 2) work hard 3) meet others with similar interests 4) become more self sufficient and self-reliant 5) learn how to grow food with or without soil. 6) Discover new high tech garden skills. 7) receive food they may have helped grow themselves!
From January through mid-November our members are working in the gardens. 10 months of the year our Holladay Gardens are in full swing. 6 months of the year our West Jordan Garden is functioning. Those who attend often and contribute to helping us move this work forward receive plenty of delicious garden produce along with all the hands on, valuable gardening experience and knowledge they gain.
Most members work together but may work alone if they prefer. Garden experience and skills are helpful but not required. A willingness to participate is all that is required.
Get started today! Come and take a short tour or better yet, come and work with us for an hour to get better acquainted with how we roll.
